I guess Conor has given up for a rematch at Kabib which is a good thing really. The only reason the fight takes place at ww would be like Merc said a potential match up with Masvidal.

Kind of surprised he would want a fight with a guy who has gotten beaten up in his last fights, I was hoping for Conor-Gathje.

This is the right booking for Conor, but should not lead to a Khabib/Tony bout, especially as this is at 170. I guess you guys are correct that it means Conor gets Masvidal with a win, but not sure why they don't just book that now, no need to beat Cerrone to get a fight with Jorge. I have one curious thought on this, I have a feeling Conor is not all in on this fight, and that's the reason it's at 170 because he isn't training hard enough to cut to 155......everything I've heard in the last few months is that Conor barely trains just now and that his relationship with Kavanagh is strained too.

Id have a hard time thinking Conor isnt taking this seriously, he is coming off the loses and says he plans on fighting 3 times in 2020...of course that could be all BS. But money aside I think he really does want to be the best again if he can.

Yeah, I'm sure he's taking the fight seriously enough, just seems like doing it at 170 smacks of corner cutting.

A/This is a stupid fight now....way past the expiry date on it. It's a name fighter for Conor to starch
B/assuming Khabib beats Tony, Conor will absolutely get a rematch should he want it. Conor isn't the "Don" of the UFC anymore, but he still wields more power than any other fighter and what he wants he'll still get

I dont think that's how it's going to play out. Assuming Kabib wins he has Gathje and GSP waiting and I thought i read Conor might want Masvidal should he win which kinda makes sense given he is fighting at 170.

Not to mention I think Kabib really doesnt want another Conor fight at the moment as he has other good options.

Khabib has said McGregor needs 10 fight win streak at Lightweight then maybe he'll consider the rematch. Khabib doesn't want to fight McGregor again, can't say I blame him. Guy doesn't deserve it.

Agreed, and I think for once we're in the majority with this opinion.....twitter last night was blowing up on how much bullshit this was.
Did you see the video of Dana explaining why.......he started to say something about the last fight like he was going to insinuate the fight was competitive, but then stopped himself and went with the bad blood reasoning

Just read Kabib is not a fan of that idea and that he decides who he fights which is good. Pretty bad when a fighter is willing to give up a money fight to do the right thing.
Dana went on to say that "Justin knows why" he turned a fight down or something but Dana just muttered some more stupidity that didnt make sense...pathetic really.

Apparently Gaethje has turned down a coup;e fights but ONLY those fights offered without a full training camp, he apparently turned down a short notice fight (less than 2 weeks notice) and a fight with 4 weeks notice..................Don't blame him at all

I really don't think Conor wins vs Cerrone at 170...and I'm a huge Conor fan...I see Cerrone setting up the head kick or choking Conor out...as for Khabib...he hasn't been champ long enough to be able to say who he fights....he's an entitled twat to think he can this early...I hope Tony beats him...and I don't like Tony either...Conor deserves to make a come back....but not at anyone elses expense....money rematch sucks!

We're about complete opposits in these opinions lol.....I Hate Conor.....I think 2 years ago Cerrone gives Conor a solid go and maybe wins, Cerrone of today is a punching bag and will be the "name" Conor requires with as little threat as possible.
As for Khabib....BIG fan, and he's been champ with defences longer than Conor and Conor was calling his own shots, so Khabib has done more than enough and has been champ long enough and is a big enough draw to call his own shots IMO.
I hope Khabib crushes Tony.......the rest we agree on Very Happy

Yeah I just don’t see Conor pulling it off....he’s going to have to ha e a super solid game plan, lots of hard leg kicks, take down defense and lack of ring rust....I’ll be taking Cerrone in this...another one of my favorites because he’s a true martial artist and a seemingly solid dood!

The closer this fight gets to us the more I feel this is going to be a 1 sided mauling.....the fight was made for Conor for a big name and very little risk.....Cerrone gets killed here I'm afraid.....I mean I've thought from the get go Conor takes it pretty easily, but now, it's a beatdown
