I think it's pretty bad. I really only like the main event.

I'm surprised, cos to me this is a terrible card. Classic boxing style card with a huge main event and nothing of note below it at all.

see, a month ago I thought this was one of the weakest PPV's ever...now I still don't think it's very good, just not as horrible as I initially thoughtBluenoseGreig wrote:Kickass32 wrote:Not a HORRIBLE card but not a good one either....I like it a little more than I did a month ago

Re: UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cowboy
Listened to The Man and The Mith podcast yesterday, Petesy Carroll was on it and was saying that Conor had none of his usual training partners in his camp for this fight, all of the guys were amateur MMA fighters this time. Not even Artem Lobov was involved, and that's very unusual for Conor. I'm doubting he's as great as his team have been claiming or that he's as committed to this fight as he claims to be too.

The podcast is Shaun Al-Shatti and Chuck Mindenhall…….Petesy Carroll is the longest, and best probably, Irish MMA journalist, works for MMA Fighting and ESPN. He's been involved with stories from inside Conor's camp since pre UFC.

So 2 fights canceled.
Grasso misses weight by 5.5 pounds and Nevada rules say that weight class difference can be no more than 3 pounds....fucking unprofessional of grasso...and I like her
Also Skelly/Dawson fight was canceled but couldn't find a reason why

Yeah, piss poor by Grasso. But also highlights a ridiculously stupid rule. So a fighter competing in say the 125lb division can weigh anything between 116 and 125(6)…...but the fight would be cancelled if one weighed 117 and one was 123, that's fucking stupid.

Does that still work? Likely will, but won't soon when the UFC have their own approved supp range.

Well that went pretty much how I was anticipating....well a little quicker than I thought...I figured Cowboy would last a couple minutes.....Conor wasn't a huge douche afterwards which was nice, he was only mildly irritating

He looked sharp for sure, those shoulder shots is what started the downfall for Cerrone, Conor even landed a nice head kick which sent Cerrone to his down leading to the finish.
Dana doesnt seem to want Conor-Masvidal and says Kabib is next...stupid considering he is fighting TF and that win is not a guarantee. Seeing as the fight isnt till April that would work putting Gaethje-Conor on the same card although that would never likely happen.

I can't see those 2 fights being on the same card...both would do huge numbers on their own. I hope, I REALLY hope Khabib tells Conor and Dana to go fuck themselves and refuses that fight

Gawd damn Drew Dober looked good for what little time that fight took. Ref probably could have stopped it a couple punches before he did.
Man Oleinik is a monster on the ground, even at 42 yrs old. GREAT job by ref Keith Peterson as well noticing that tap....it was very subtle
Pettis/Ferreira was an entertaining fight....I like Pettis a lot but I'm not sure where he goes from here....definitely some fun fights left for him but the UFC will need to be creative and smart with their matchmaking with him

Re: UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cowboy
This is Dana being a bully and twisting shit around for his own narrative...Dana says Gaethje refused fights hence him being by-passed....the only fights Gaethje said no to were 2 short notice fights, 1 with 2 weeks notice and the other with 4 weeks notice.....essentially no different than what Conor has done I'm sure....not short notice fights but I can guarantee you Dana has gone to Conor and said "how about this fight" and Conor has said no, i won't fight him and that goes on for a few names with Conor saying no until he gets the opponent he wants.
I think Conor fights Masvidal next, probably more hopeful than any logic based opinion. As for Gethje, I'm thinking they do the Poirier fight again....which I hate, not as a fight because that's a great fight again, but in terms of it being a punishment fight for Gaethje.....I mean you're making Gaethje fight the best of the best to POTENTIALLY earn a title fight while Conor gets a handpicked easy fight in a different weight class to "earn" his title shot

Khabib Nurmagomedov is willing to fight Conor McGregor again, but under one condition: The UFC pays him a whopping 100 million dollars.
That’s according to Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who told RIA Novosti in a recent interview that ‘The Eagle’ should be one of, if not the, highest paid fighters in the sport.
“We also need revenge against Conor,” Abdulmanap said, per Ryan Harkness of MMA Mania. “But give us $100 million. The day after the fight against Ferguson, give us that amount and then why not get revenge? I don’t know, maybe Dana White wants to arrange it (for that amount), he needs that fight.”

Agreed. If you don't like it, learn how to escape from it. Granted the ref should have probably stepped in sooner, but never rely on a ref to separate you or stand you up.

That whole thing was weird, why get a doctor in to check if her knee is fine, then he says it's a partial tear(or something along those lines) and then allow the fight to continue...….what was the purpose of the doctor coming in if you don't then act and stop the fight when given that information. Also, her corner failed her big time, she had zero chance of winning that fight once her knee was done, all they did was ensure she did more damage.

No, but from what I heard they will be 'guaranteed' to be clean, so a fighter not using them will not be so easily able to use the tainted supp defence if they piss hot. Not sure this is all in place yet too, but it will be soon.

Yeah, her dad seems like a dumbass! She lost all of the fight, and given that her ground game is very green, having a dud knee and going to the ground with a known grappler was not a smart move by anyone involved in her team.
