Looks like Cat Zingano has been signed by Bellator and will fight at Featherweight....looking to build what the UFC couldn't

Always where she was gonna end up. She'll likely win some but also likely get murdered by Cyborg!

I believe he was just genuinely sick. The talk is that he's gonna fight Fedor next.

That is a good fight and should have happened a decade ago...but Bellator is kinda a retirement tour for a lot of fighters anyhow.

Fedor didn't announce his retirement, the translator fucked up. Fedor cleared it up in the post fight presser, what he'd said was that he wouldn't fight in Japan again, he has 2 fights left in Bellator though.Kickass32 wrote:I'm actually interested in that fight. Bellator fires Paul Daley for saying 100% accurate facts
Paul Daley announced on Instagram that he’s been fired from his TV analyst role at Bellator due to comments he made regarding Michael Page’s opponents:
“You can’t continually beat these kinds of opponents. Yes, he knocks them out, but he’s expected to knock them out.”

Big John was ridiculous during MVP entrance. Saying he's fought better competition than Anderson Silva... nope.

BJM is maybe the worst colour commentator in the game, he's awful. I get that these dudes are trying to sell their fighters, but dammit man, at least make it sound rational.

Re: Bellator news and fighter signings
Yea they are all so bias against the UFC its not even funny. Josh Thompson going on about how Bader can beat anybody and so can Lima and on and on.
Of course BJM had his past probs with UFC so he's going to do his thing.

Yeah, I understand trying to sell their fighters as being very good, but a little realism wouldn't be a bad thing. That said, I'd love to see Lima fight the best in the UFC, he has looked amazing lately and probably would be a legit challenge to Usman, etc.

I agree with Lima, but not sure MVP would survive against an elite wrestler, it always helps to get favourable matchups.

I guess that depends on what you mean by survive. He would easily beat a good chunk of the WW roster, and a guy like say Mickey Gall seems to survive in the UFC despite being bang average at best. Would he compete with the elite, I doubt it very much but there are for sure some at the top he could beat.

Ok, a few takeaways here......how does Cyborg get out earned?
How does a fighter on the main card make only 3K
How does any professional fighter only make $1500 for a fight
Does anyone know how much Pettis was making in the UFC?

Found this from UFC 229 payouts:
Sergio Pettis: $56,000 ($46,000 to show, $10,000 fight week incentive pay)
That's on a loss so Pettis seems to be making MUCH less in Bellator

Just had a quick look, Cyborg made 500K for her title defence against Holly Holm......big pay decrease there, but she can make up some of that through sponsors now

Yeah sponsors will boost them way higher. They desperately need to bring them back I think. Better for the fights and personally, think it makes the shorts look better too.

Cyborg at least now fighting girls her size, in the UFC she was fighting 125 and 135'rs. Either way, she is leagues above the competition, so it doesn't really matter where she fights. The only fight worthy of seeing her in, she lost, and had no desire to rematch.

Crazy that Cyborg is earning half of what she was paid in the UFC, and they can claim sponsirs will be greater but no way they fill that shortfall. She was still sponsored by many companies whilst in the UFC, just no fight day visibility. There was talk recently that fighters get more sponsors now than before because of the use of social media to promote rather than fight day. Anyhoo, crazy how poorly she's paid here.
Pettis too, he chose to refuse a deal in the UFC, so how is he being paid less too? I wonder if there is a 'signing on' fee involved here?
As for how does someone get paid $1500, Bellator are known to pay as little as $250 to fighters on the undercard. Coker tried to explain it as they are giving them a chance to get a contract basically, in the past as an excuse! Check it here https://www.mmafighting.com/2018/3/11/17105532/click-debate-why-does-bellators-pay-structure-look-different-than-ufc-scott-coker-explains

Oh absolutely, they look so much better than the "uniforms"Hired_Merc wrote:Yeah sponsors will boost them way higher. They desperately need to bring them back I think. Better for the fights and personally, think it makes the shorts look better too.

Yeah that's what I'm saying...although Dana did cave and put in Miletich didn't he?BluenoseGreig wrote:Kickass32 wrote:Cyborg is now a 4 organization Champ: Strikeforce, Invicta, UFC and now Bellator.
Question is now, will Dana put Cris into the HOF?
100% should be in the HOF, but then so should Frank Shamrock and others, so I wouldn't hold your breath!

Great, the girl who lost twice to Julia Budd!
I have seen rumors of Cat Zingano getting the next shot

How does a fighter on the main card make only 3K
How does any professional fighter only make $1500 for a fight
Does anyone know how much Pettis was making in the UFC?
There is no way....no fricken way a "professional" fighter should be making that little to fight for a major organization. that's absolutely fucking embarrassing. Having said that, it is there choice, it doesn't affect me so let them fight it out with the orgs.

Just as bad, Cat has won 1 fight in the last 5 years.
