Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
Well it was near impossible to live up to the hype for this card, at least the hype I was giving it.
The card performed decently, Rakic and Santos was terrible, Dober and Islam, while a 1 sided beatdown, was an entertaining fight, Yan/Sterling was good up until the bonehead knee. Nunes/Anderson was basically exactly what I thought, maybe even easier and the main event was good but still a little underwhelming. Pumped Jan won, a little surprised the scorecards made it seem as it was a fairly easy victory. I scored it 48-47 Jan with the last 2 rounds obviously going to Jan and then I gave him the 1st or 2nd can't remember but 3 rounds to 2

Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
Great win for Yan, too many counted him out and he did exactly what he had to do to win. Was very close on the feet but he used his B option to get the win, glad he did because that would have screwed over the division If Izzy would have won then vacated...thought the Rackic fight would have been better but Santos seemed more then happy to do nothing....not sure he's an elite fighter anymore. And agree with your other takes on the fights.

Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
Rogan was saying he thinks with Santos' knee injuries and surgeries that he just isn't able to move well enough anymore and essentially has to fight that style now. If that is accurate Santos may as well hang em up because he'll lose to most top LHW using that style

Maybe, he's not a spring chicken anymore and recovering from major injuries like that can certainly change your career.

Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
Whatever it is, Santos seems to be a shell of his former self, no explosions, way to cautious...he's fighting like a fat 265 pound heavyweight

Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
Yep, he was slow and plodding letting Rakic pick him apart but at the end of the fight thought he won....

Re: UFC 259 Discussion Thread
I guess in his defence there really wasn't much happening in the fight so maybe he thought his nothing was better than Rakic's nothing
