Haven't see this confirmed so I'll drop it here:
Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero set for battle at #UFC248 on Mar. 7 in Vegas.

Havnt seen it confirmed either but I like the fight, Israel has been fortunate to not not fight a high level wrestler to this point, be interesting to see if Romero would try to wrestle....as he should.

I "like" the fight but don't think Romero should be getting a shot at the title coming off 2 losses and 1 win in 2 1/2 yearsjax wrote:Havnt seen it confirmed either but I like the fight, Israel has been fortunate to not not fight a high level wrestler to this point, be interesting to see if Romero would try to wrestle....as he should.

So Cejudo was stripped of the FLW title??? Is this the final nail in the coffin for that division?

Glad he was stripped, he was content of screwing the division over for his own glory....and I guess the division still has a pulse...for the moment.

Benavidez has a big enough name and following he can keep the division afloat....but I think it's still a ship just waiting to sink

Seeing rumors of Nick Diaz vs. Masvidal happening. Not sure why Jorge would even entertain this fight, it does nothing for him

I'm guessing he still is somewhat considering his brother finally got his name out there in last few years wouldnt hurt either. Would be interesting to see him fight again especially against Masvidal.

Not sure Nick is still a draw, but he's likely a bigger draw than anyone in the UFC but for maybe 5 or 6 fighters. I don't have any real interest in a fight with Masvidal, mostly because Jorge should be chasing real fights, and gold now.

The thing so many of these fighters fail to realise is when THEY become the draw, the name. Masvidal is as much of a draw(or more) as Nick now, and the best way to increase that is to chase gold, real gold......then sadly, he looks for freakshow fights...….when he is on a bigger guaranteed payday.

This is so true Blue........Masvidal's name is out there and it's out there with, sadly the most important group......the casuals.

Interesting fight if Romero uses his wrestling, but at the same time he doesnt like to use much energy in a fight due to his build and age so he will have to pick his spots....he really doesnt use it much considering his pedigree in it.

Adesanya can pick him apart, just whether or not Romero can do that. Not a fan of guys getting title shots off loses unless it's due to an injury. I don't know if Costa is injured or he's just sitting out? Regardless, yeah I'm picking Romero for the knock out.

I'm with you, I hate that Romero is getting the shot......off 2 losses. It's ridiculous. Costa is hurt though, he recently had surgery on his left bicep. But I do kinda respect the Adesanya point of view that Romero is arguably the scariest guy in the division and he can't call himself the cahmpion if he doesn't beat him. Still shit rewarding a guy off of losses though......oh, and he missed weight for one of those fights, a title fight too!

Agreed, it is B.S a guy is getting a title shot of a loss...or in this case 2 losses.....Aldo will be getting one too coming off a loss

Totally forgot Romero missed weight, man it's way worse than I thought then. Personally don't mind Aldo getting title shot, I can't see how that fight was scored for Moraes.

The only issue I have is: even if most THINK a fighter actually won a fight and is rewarded on that thought process, we effectively don't need judges if we can start ignoring their decisions and then we end up with close decisions getting "overturned" so it benefits Dana's requirements, then we get anarchy

Re: The UFC Rumor Mill
Cejudo has become super diva since he won the both belts, another good reason why the dual champ thing never works, just glad they stripped him of 125 belt other wise he would have just held it and not defend it.

Wins and losses don't matter to Dana anyway, they haven't for years.

Agreed, the results have to mean something. If there is any idea of it being the wrong decision, book the fight again, or book the loser as if he'd won...….unless it's for the belt, because that's just stupid.

I agree they mean less and less, but for the most part title fights have been exempt from that practice.....some dumb title shots but not many handed out from lossesHired_Merc wrote:Kickass32 wrote:The only issue I have is: even if most THINK a fighter actually won a fight and is rewarded on that thought process, we effectively don't need judges if we can start ignoring their decisions and then we end up with close decisions getting "overturned" so it benefits Dana's requirements, then we get anarchy

"Superfight"? not sure about that but I would think he would want a lesser opponent considering the beating he might get even with a clean TJ.

Faber is nothing more than chasing fights he feels he can make some money in...….but I'm not sure how? He should pick up easy win paychecks taking out lower level guys, or other aging past their prime guys.
Side note. Remember a wee while back the UFC signed with a company to provide meals for fighters...….guess who owns that company, Urijah Faber!
