#UFC veteran Alex Nicholson gets a hefty punishment from the NAC......4 year ban
https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/alex-nicholson/first-time-offender-alex-nicholson-receives-4-year-suspension-from-nac-fined-over-15k/
PFL light heavyweight and former UFC fighter Alex Nicholson has hit a major snag in his MMA career.
On Wednesday, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) held their monthly meeting. Alex Nicholson was a point of discussion as the fighter allegedly tested positive for multiple banned substances on a recent drug test. The test in question was administered for his Francimar Barroso bout at a PFL event on October 31. The results concluded the positive use of three banned substances, drostanolone, nandrolone and trenbolone, in addition to an elevated T/E ratio.
According to NAC, Nicholson was notified by the commission’s attorney but elected not to respond to the complaint. He did not attend or comment on Wednesday’s hearing. Despite a lack of response to the commission, Nicholson denied any wrongdoing in a statement to MMA Fighting.

It's bullshit that USADA/UFC will go above and beyond to prove Jon Jones is innocent, and move heaven and earth to ensure his fights go ahead, even if it means moving to another state at the last minute. But for lesser fighters like Jessica, they can suck it up basically.

I haven't thought about the fighters lawsuit against the UFC for quite some time now, but this has gotten me thinking about it and how I actually hope the fighters win....not that I completely agree with them, just that I want the UFC to lose for a change

That's taking forever to get anywhere, can't help think it will eventually just wither and die. Also, the Reebok deal ends soon, and as usual the fighters will do nothing to organise and look for a real piece of the next pie. They get what they deserve really, nothing!

Forgot about the RBK deal.....when does it expire? That will be the first REAL test of the fighters desires....they can fight a new deal, but like you say, they won't

Expires in July. They'll do absolutely nothing. They all complain about everything, and always do nothing. The USADA stuff could be made clearer by unionising and demanding clarity, also being in a union would likely give them easier means to appeal with union assistance, that way they could all exhaust every avenue, not just the valuable fighters or rich fighters such as Jon Jones. Not to mention unionising would help to fix pay structures......all of which the fighters will never do.

Re: UFC and USADA Thread
You know my thoughts on unions, but I've been on board with a fighters union for about a year now.......most other professional sports share the revenue with their players....most are in the 50% range....I think I read in 2018 the UFC gave up 17% to the fighters.....that number might be off a bit but it certainly was a low numberBluenoseGreig wrote:Kickass32 wrote:Forgot about the RBK deal.....when does it expire? Anyone see the story where Anthony Pettis is suing USADA? Heard it on the Luke Thomas show yesterday. He apparently cut his thumb on a pee bottle after doing a mandatory drug test

Apparently the suspensions were light because of the issues with osterine now, you know, the picogram thing. It's bullshit, and an easy way out for fighters now. No other sport has adjusted the rules like this, only the UFC......all done by pretending it's USADA, but USADA also oversee other sports in the US and no change.

Looks like Barnett pissed hot again, Bellator does have some additional testing in certain states and Barnett flunked again, his fight with Rony markes is off.
What a POS after after asking for his release from UFC over USADA crap and still pisses hot. Its obvious why he couldnt stay in UFC too hard with USADA always testing him and thought it would be easier to cheat in Bellator.
How many times has he pissed hot in his career? could be a record...

Gastelum tests positive for weed again
https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/29161991
Gastelum, a top middleweight fighter, failed a drug test for 11-nor-9-carboxy-tetrahydrocannabinol (Carboxy-THC) over the threshold of 180 nanograms per milliliter in relation to his UFC 244 fight against Darren Till on Nov. 2, 2019, according to a release from UFC anti-doping partner USADA.

Should be made legal imo, no hard evidence to suggest it's an enhancer. Some fighters and BJJ guys say yes, but not real concrete hard evidence. If a guy wants to put themselves at a disadvantage, fuck it.
